There were so many things to talk about in my last update that I forgot a few things.
When I was headed to Iceland from BWI, the row of seats that I was in was empty as well as the row next to me (there was one woman in the row as well). We were both excited that we were going to get our own seats for the entire trip! Not so lucky.....about a minute before the doors closed, a man and a woman were walking up the aisle and i was hoping that they weren't sitting in my row. Sure enough, they were. the guysatnext to me and I immediately smelled the stench of alcohol. I was like..great.... His wife sat in the aisle seat. He tried talking to me the whole time and I didn't want to be rude, so I tried to talk back, but I really just wanted to sleep. I guess that ride wasn't too bad, but I still have the stench of alcohol in my nose from that guy!
As soon as I got to the room, I had to go to the bathroom. So I get in there and i'm trying to find a light switch, but I can't find one! So I go to the bathroom and look for it afterwards. I swear, I was searching for it for about 5 minutes and I was about to go crazy because I couldn't find a light switch! i'm 21 years old and you'd think I would be smart enough to find a freakin light switch! So I was literally searching the whole room (oh, by the way, my room and the room next to me are conected by a shared bathroom), and I still couldn't find it. Then I went into the bathroom again and I saw this rope-like string and pulled it. Yeah, it was for the light. I guess I wasn't especting that to turn on the light...?
So, I bought 2 converters for my room and I didn't really know what electronics I had to plug into which one (depends upon the different voltage). I plugged 2 wrong electronics into the wrong converters and blew the fuses in both of them....great... Luckily enough, Alyssa had a spare one that she's letting me use.
On the way back from shopping yesterday with Alyssa, we were walking home with our bags in hand. A car pulls up next to us and stops and asks us for directions! By this time, I've only been tehre a day and Alyssa less than 24-hours. We actually knew where the ladies wanted to go! How weird is that?!!? They wanted to go to a hotel which was right across the stret from where we were shopping and the only reason why Alyssa and I knew where they were talking about is because the building was so pretty (architecture-wise). I thought that was pretty cool how we've only been here for a day or so and we've already given directions to somewhere in the city!
Um, I have another flatmate whose room is right next to the stairwell. I haven't met her yet though. She was in the kithen talking on the phone and I didn't want to disturb her. Hopefully I'll be able to meet her today.
